Overview
Founded in 1925 in the line of Boulogne's first regattas of 1852, the Yacht Club Boulonnais sails the Opal Coast from two bases: dinghies on boulevard Sainte-Beuve and keelboats in the marina on quai Chanzy. At first a keelboat club, it took up dinghy sailing in 1954 by merging with 'La Mouette Boulonnaise'. Saturday sports school in Optimist and windsurfing, school sailing, courses, wing foil and private lessons, plus offshore sessions aboard a JOD 35 that raced the Tour de France à la voile. The club runs a regatta calendar in the roads and the Channel: league regattas, the Link Cup Boulogne–Ramsgate and the Transcap Boulogne–Calais.
