Overview
Oulun Purjehdusseura (OPS) was founded in 1881 and is Oulu’s oldest continuously active sports club. Its home harbour is the Hietasaari boating centre across from Oulu city centre and market square: about 200 berths, mostly boom berths, heated and cold boat halls, open winter storage and boat and mast cranes. Most members’ boats are motorboats, and the club has 195 members. Races are run with Sailing Team Oulu and the other Oulu clubs, including the Round Maluri race, the Botnia Regatta and the Oulu Regatta.
