Overview
Naantalin Purjehdusseura (NPS) was founded on 5 May 1917 specifically to promote safe boating and is now one of the largest clubs in the region, with more than 600 members and well over 300 registered boats. It has three bases – the Lammasluoto junior and racing centre near central Naantali, Mustaluoto in Rymättylä and Halvvägsstenarna in Iniö. NPS Sailing Center sails the club’s 606s every week, juniors have sailing schools and a 29er squad, and the club also runs windsurfing courses. A motorboat section joined in 1981, and the club was named Sailing Club of the Year in 1988.
