Overview
Kuopion Pursiseura (KuoPS) is a boat club on lake Kallavesi with about 750 members and some 350 registered boats, half keel sailboats and half motorboats. Its bases are Pirttiniemi a few kilometres from central Kuopio (300+ berths and winter places, plus guest berths), Iivarinsalo and Jänissalo. The club has run the Kallavesj’ boat show since 1964, and its race programme includes the Kallavesj’ Regatta, the Round Kallavesi race, the Wine Festival race and, in 2026, the national 2.4 Metre championship. Children have Optimist camps and teenagers and adults an ILCA sailing school.
