Overview
Jyväskylän Veneseura (JVS) describes itself as the largest boat club on northern Päijänne. Its home harbour is Juurikkasaari in Säynätsalo, with just over 130 stern-buoy berths, a dinghy ramp, a mast crane for masts up to 18 m and winter storage; the island base Kumina on Vanhanselkä, Korpilahti, has a sauna and shelters. With Lahden Purjehdusseura it runs the Päijänne Regatta, plus spring and autumn distance races from Juurikka to Kumina and a club evening series. Juniors sail the club’s Optimists and Zoom8s, and adults can take sailing, navigation and VHF courses.
