Overview
The Royal Barcelona Yacht Club has its clubhouse and marina on the Moll d'Espanya in Port Vell, right on the city waterfront, and counts more than 140 years of history. It is a founding member of the Comité International de la Méditerranée (CIM) and the Spanish association of yacht clubs, and is affiliated to the Spanish (RFEV) and Catalan sailing federations and the RANC offshore association. It runs the Menorca–Sant Joan race, the Conde de Godó Trophy, the Puig Vela Clàssica Barcelona for classic and vintage yachts and the J/70 Barcelona Winter Series, and was host venue yacht club partner of the 37th America's Cup in Barcelona. Its navigation school prepares Spanish recreational licences (PNB, PER, Yachtmaster, Captain) and runs dinghy courses and J/70 race training.
