Overview
Kjøbenhavns Amatør-Sejlklub (K.A.S.) is one of the oldest and largest sailing clubs in Copenhagen and is based in Svanemøllehavnen on Østerbro. The volunteer-run club is known for its sailing school: a two-year course in the club's gaff-rigged boats leading to both the Danish proficiency certificate and K.A.S.'s own skipper test, with school sailing every evening in season. Afterwards members can continue with advanced training in the gaffers or race training in Spækhugger and J/80 keelboats under K.A.S. Racing, which also runs regattas. Members with the club skipper's licence can rent club boats for their own trips, and there are weekend cruises and summer cruises.
