Overview
Egå Sejlklub is based at Egå Marina on Aarhus Bay north-east of Aarhus, with a clubhouse in the middle of the marina for the keelboat sailors and a dinghy clubhouse by the slipway at the north end. The club was founded in 1973, and its growth is what led to the marina itself, opened in 1978. Through the summer there is evening racing for keelboats and multihulls, with or without a DH rating, a separate course for one-designs and dedicated single-handed and double-handed series, and every August the Egå Tun Star takes two-person crews out to Tunø and back. The Optimist section trains sailors from 8 to 15 at several levels, the larger-dinghy section sails ILCA, and the sailing school has three school boats and leads to the Danish Duelighedsbevis. The club also runs cruises in company, including a Whitsun cruise and an autumn cruise.
