Overview
Yacht-Club Wilhelmshaven (YCW) was founded on 6 September 1969 as the Motor-Yacht-Club Wilhelmshaven and has had its present name since 1974. Its harbour lies on the Südstrand in the inner harbour behind the sea lock, right in town; the clubhouse is a converted former floating dock, alongside a member-built boat hall and the club's own mast crane. Club boats – a dinghy, a Zugvogel and Optimists – are used for training and youth sailing. Visiting boats get their own berth on the pontoon, with no climbing over the pulpit.
