Overview
The sailing fellowship 'Das Wappen von Bremen' (SKWB) was founded on 19 April 1934 in Bremen's council chambers as a yacht school and is an offshore club with no clubhouse and no harbour of its own: its yachts live at sea. SKWB's ocean cruisers have crossed the Atlantic more than 30 times and the Pacific twice, rounded Cape Horn several times and made many voyages into Arctic waters. Its juniors race the yacht 'Löwe von Bremen' in ORC events in the North Sea and Baltic – Go4Speed training, MaiOR, North Sea Week, Kiel Week – and in October the youth race Kiel–Travemünde (Commodore Cup) with the Offshore Youngsters autumn cruise.
