Overview
Segelclub Eckernförde (SCE), with about 700 members, is one of the big sailing clubs on the German Baltic coast. Its own harbour lies on the north side at the head of Eckernförde Bay, next to the naval harbour and close to town, with more than 320 berths, gantry and mast cranes, a slipway, halls and a club restaurant. Since 1968 SCE has run the Eck-Days – today a Folkboat ranking regatta at Ascension – plus the Aalregatta as part of Kiel Week, the offshore race to Hørup Hav (run more than 50 times), a night race, and for juniors the 'Eichhörnchen' and the 420 Squirrel Cup.
