Overview
Münchner Yacht-Club (MYC) was founded in 1908 as the 'Vereinigung Münchner Segler' on the Würmsee, today's Lake Starnberg, and is one of the oldest sailing clubs in Bavaria. Its home is an 1884 villa on the west shore with a club casino and terrace overlooking the bay. The club has more than 700 members, over 200 of them children and juniors – it has had its own youth section since 1919 – races in the first division of the German Sailing League and runs regattas such as the Ladies Cup. Club boats for members include two J/70s, a Streamline, two Lasers and two H-Boats, and the Sailing Academy offers courses, training and talks.
