Overview

Frankfurter Yachtclub (FYC) grew out of the post-war sailing and motorboat community on the Niederrad bank of the Main and has its grounds on the Mainfeldstraße in Frankfurt-Niederrad – a large riverside garden with clubhouse, old trees and a view of sailing boats and barges. Racing is on the Main: in 1952 the club ran the first Frankfurt Autumn Regatta, which by 1972 had 74 starters, 28 of them 420s; there is also a club championship of six club races from May to October, plus open regattas. Children and juniors sail in groups with club boats and coaches.
