Overview

Deutscher Touring Yacht-Club (DTYC), known simply as 'Touring', was founded in 1909 and is based in Tutzing on the west shore of Lake Starnberg. The club harbour holds 121 yachts up to about 12 m, two dinghy ramps allow quick launching even for big dinghy fleets, and the clubhouse has 40 bunks for members. The club is a founding member of the German Sailing League and regularly hosts world, European and German championships, plus events such as the RS Aero German Open. Juniors from age six train weekly on the lake in Optimists, 29ers, ILCAs and 420s; the harbour also holds classic yachts older than the club itself.
