Overview
Bodensee-Yacht-Club Überlingen (BYCÜ) was founded in 1909; it is one of the three oldest sailing clubs on Lake Constance and the oldest sailing club in Baden-Württemberg. With about 700 members, some 80 of them active juniors, it is the largest yacht club in Überlingen; its harbour with crane, dry berths, dinghy park and a big slipway lies on the Seestraße on the Überlinger See, right in town. Juniors train weekly on 15 club Optimists, three 420s and in the 29er and ILCA, and several BYCÜ sailors are in German federation squads. The club runs the Überlingen Dragon Cup regatta and the Überlingen autumn regattas.
