Overview
The Yacht Club Bielersee was founded on 27 June 1942 at the Hotel Bären in Twann and has its clubhouse and own harbour at Wingreis near Twann on the north shore of Lake Biel. It runs the Lake Biel championship (BSM), the Redeye and other regattas, fields a J/70 team in the Swiss Sailing League and keeps a J/70 training pool. For youth sailing it works closely with the Bordée de Tribord, and for its 60th anniversary in 2002 it hosted the Swiss Sailing Cup at the Expo.02.
