Overview
Yacht Club de Ilhabela (YCI), founded in 1956, sits on Praia de Santa Tereza near Ilhabela's Vila, facing the São Sebastião Channel. Its marina on concrete floating pontoons has water, power and sewage connections for boats up to and beyond 100 ft (berths for members only). It organises the Ilhabela International Sailing Week, South America's biggest offshore sailing event, and the four-stage Ilhabela offshore circuit, plus a cruising rally to its Saco do Sombrio outstation on the island's ocean side. A mainland outstation at Praia de São Francisco, São Sebastião, has a members' shuttle launch across the channel.
