Overview
Iate Clube do Rio de Janeiro (ICRJ), founded in 1920, sits at Urca on Botafogo cove inside Guanabara Bay, with its own marina under Morro da Urca. It is one of Brazil's busiest racing clubs: it runs the Rio de Janeiro International Sailing Week, the country's largest one-design week, plus the King Olav V Trophy and the Commodore's Trophy, which bring together everything from Optimists and ILCAs to Stars, Snipes and offshore boats. It has a water-sports school (EDN), a youth sailing programme and outstations at Cabo Frio, Angra dos Reis and Ilha das Palmas (VHF 73).
