Overview

The Koninklijke Roeivereniging Sport Gent (Royal Sport Nautique de Gand) is a Ghent rowing club based on the Watersportbaan since May 1961, next to Club Gent; in 1906 its members rowed in the combined Ghent eight that won the Grand Challenge Cup at Henley. The club has over 500 members and a clubhouse with boat sheds, a weights room, a 32-bed sports hostel (2014) and a café-restaurant with a terrace over the course. Anyone aged 9 to 99 who can swim 50 m can learn to row here, all year round on the Watersportbaan or the canal. Sport Gent runs the Ghent May Regatta.
