Overview
The Cercle des Régates de Bruxelles was founded in 1878 by a group of students on the Brussels–Charleroi canal; from 1881 it ran international regattas and on 10 June 1886 the first coxed-eight races in Belgium. Since June 2002 the club has had its own premises on the Quai de Veeweyde in Anderlecht, near the lock, with showers, a weights room and a restaurant. Members row both racing and touring; learn-to-row courses run for adults from mid-March to October and for juniors aged 11 to 19 all year, plus summer camps. The CRB runs a 4.5 km head race and a junior regatta at the end of the season.
