Overview
The Yacht-Club Weiden was founded in 1983 by residents of the Seepark Weiden on Lake Neusiedl, soon joined by boat owners from the Marina Weiden. This family club with a strong racing streak has had its own clubhouse since 1999. Its racing sailors have won national titles, it was named Austria's most sporting club in 1995, and for its 20th anniversary in 2003 it hosted the Hobie Cat 16 European Championship with 110 teams from 12 nations. Juniors can try sailing in club boats, and cruising members sail together on the lake and on blue-water trips.
