Overview
The Yacht Club Bregenz began in 1925 as the Vorkloster boat owners' club at the mouth of the Bilgeribach, was renamed Boots Club Vorkloster in 1929 and has had its present name since 1947 – the year work started on its own harbour at the Suppersbach mouth on the Bregenz shore of Lake Constance. It runs the Starclassic and the Bregenz Shark trophy, the 2026 International 8 Metre Class World Cup, a single- and double-handed race round Lake Constance, the Special Olympics Cup and club and evening races in the Bay of Bregenz. Club sailors have competed at Olympic Games from Tokyo 1964 to Paris 2024, and youth sailing and cruising are part of club life.
