Overview
The Wiener Ruderverein Austria was founded in 1904 and is one of Austria's oldest rowing clubs. It rows on a quiet side arm of the Danube with no shipping or motorboats, with direct access to the flowing river along the Klosterneuburg floodplain woods as far as Greifenstein. About 100 members – school pupils, students, working people and masters – share a large fleet from beginner boats to racing shells, an ergometer and weights room and a sauna, and every year the club runs the Kuchelau rowing regatta, Business-2-Row and river trips.
