For visiting boats

Picton Marina is in the middle of Picton township at the head of Queen Charlotte Sound, the main gateway to the Marlborough Sounds and a short walk from the Cook Strait ferry terminal. Remodelled and extended with a new inner basin beyond the Coathanger Bridge in 2013, it has 206 berths plus town-wharf berthage for boats from 8 m to 50 m, in 2–7 m at MLWS, and is a Gold Anchor, 'Superyacht Ready' and Clean Marina accredited facility. Casual berths start at NZ$47 a day for boats up to 12 m, and boats under 10 m can tie up at the visitor jetty by the hour. The fuel jetty has petrol and diesel with a free pump-out; there are coin showers and laundry, and the nearest haul-out (35 t travel lift) is at nearby Waikawa Marina. Picton is also a place of first arrival with a quarantine berth for customs clearance.
