For visiting boats
Chaffers Marina sits on Clyde Quay Wharf in the sheltered corner of Wellington Harbour, a few minutes' walk from Te Papa, Oriental Bay and the city centre. Opened in 1993 in the Lambton Harbour redevelopment, it has 184 berths from 10 to 20 m, gated piers with 24/7 CCTV and a community of owners and live-aboards. Visitors book at least 24 hours ahead and pay from NZ$62 a night for 10 m (2026–27), with water, showers and rubbish included; arrivals after hours lie alongside the public berths at Te Papa until the office opens. On the southern apron are a diesel fuel berth, pump-out and recycling, and a boat lift up to 35 tonnes; ashore there is a heated lounge with Wi-Fi, laundry and a drying room for wet gear.
