For visiting boats

Kilrush Marina is a locked, non-tidal basin at the head of Kilrush Creek on the north shore of the Shannon Estuary in Co. Clare, reached from the Kilrush Channel between Hog Island and the mainland. Staff meet boats at the lock gates and guide them to a berth; the office is open daily, with a 24-hour on-call service on VHF 80. The boatyard has a slipway, a travel hoist, a large outdoor hardstanding and sheds for indoor storage, with independent shipwrights and other trades on site, and the marina is a recognised Irish Sailing training centre for powerboat, keelboat and navigation courses. It makes a natural base for the 50-mile estuary, the inland Shannon and the west coast; the Western Yacht Club of Ireland is based here.
