For visiting boats
Shotley Marina lies at the tip of the Shotley peninsula, where the Orwell and the Stour meet, with quick access to both rivers, Harwich harbour and the North Sea. A dredged channel and a 24-hour manned lock lead into 350 sheltered, non-tidal berths on aluminium pontoons, all with water and metered electricity, for boats of about 7–14 m plus longer lateral berths. Ashore there are toilet and shower blocks, a laundry, a chandlery, the Shipwreck pub and restaurant, and a boatyard with a 40-ton travel hoist, along with an RYA sea school and a yacht broker. Staff are on site day and night.
- Guest berths
- Shotley Marina is at Shotley Gate, where the rivers Orwell and Stour meet opposite Harwich and Felixstowe. It is entered through a dredged channel and a lock that is manned 24 hours a day, giving sheltered non-tidal berths inside. Diesel, Calor and Camping Gaz are sold from the lock control tower around the clock. The lock closes for maintenance from 8 February 2027, so check before you plan an early-season visit.
