For visiting boats

The North Pier Pontoons are Oban's town-centre transit berths, run by Argyll and Bute Council from the Harbour Office on the North Pier. They opened in 2017 after a long community campaign. There are 39 fully serviced finger berths for boats up to 12 m and breakwater pontoons for vessels up to 30 m. Water and 16/32 A power are on the pontoons, and showers, toilets and lockers are in the Harbour Office. Stays are limited to three nights, a handy stop for provisioning or a crew change before heading out to Mull, the Sound of Lorn or the islands.

Guest berths
The North Pier Pontoons are a transit facility right in Oban town centre. Berths cannot be booked and are allocated first come, first served, for a maximum of three nights per visit. Call the NPP office on VHF 12 or by phone. The finger pontoons take boats up to 12 m, and the breakwater pontoons take up to 30 m or 127 GT. At busy times boats raft up. In strong westerly or south-westerly weather the pontoons can be exposed, and the Harbour Master may close them. Get the gate and shower code when you check in. There is no fuel on the pontoons.
