For visiting boats
Falmouth Marina sits up the Penryn River at the head of Falmouth's huge natural harbour, a gateway to the Carrick Roads and twelve miles of sheltered estuary cruising up to Truro. It has outer pontoon berths for boats up to 18 m and an inner basin for up to 15 m behind a cill that dries 1.8 m, so check the gauges before going in; drawing 1.7 m you should avoid the last hour and a half either side of low water springs. Ashore there are ten shower cubicles, a laundry, the Upper Deck bar and restaurant, a chandlery, a serviced diesel pontoon and a boatyard with a 40-tonne travel lift, a 1.8-tonne jib crane and storage for around 100 boats.
- Guest berths
- Boats drawing 1.7 m should not approach within 1.5 h of low water springs. Follow the buoyed Penryn River channel, leave Greenbank Quay to port, keep between the outer pontoons and the east cardinal beacon, and moor on the visitors' hammerhead; call reception on VHF 80 or the pontoon phone for a berth. A cill drying 1.8 m above chart datum divides the marina – check the tide gauges before crossing into the inner basin. Serviced diesel pontoon 08:00–18:00 in summer, 09:00–17:00 in winter.
