Overview
Larchmont Yacht Club, founded in 1880, sits on its own point on the western end of Long Island Sound and has been housed in the same shingled clubhouse since 1888. Since 1896 it has run Larchmont Race Week, one of the oldest race weeks in the country run by a single club, with IOD, Shields, S-boat, Sonar and PHRF fleets, a Junior Race Week and the Execution Rocks distance race. In winter the club frostbites in Interclub dinghies every Sunday, a tradition now in its 93rd season. Guests of members and reciprocal-club yachts can take a guest mooring with launch service; the fuel dock has gas and diesel and a free pump-out, all on VHF 72.
