Overview
Indian Harbor Yacht Club was founded in 1889 and has been on Rocky Neck Point in Greenwich, Connecticut, since 1897, overlooking Captain Harbor on western Long Island Sound. Its clubhouse, rebuilt after a fire in 1919 and opened on Decoration Day 1921, is on the National Register of Historic Places. The club's season runs from the Geartester middle-distance race in May to the Gearbuster in October, with evening and Saturday series for PHRF, Ideal 18s and Melges 15s, a women's supper series and Dyer Dhow frostbiting in winter; it co-hosts the YRA Championship of Long Island Sound. Visiting yachts can reserve a guest or transient mooring with launch service through Dockwa; there is no fuel or pump-out at the club.
