Overview
Eastern Yacht Club was organized in Boston in 1870 and built its clubhouse on Marblehead Neck in 1881, overlooking Marblehead Harbor on Boston's North Shore. Eastern yachts defended the America's Cup three years running, in 1885, 1886 and 1887. The club runs its Annual Regatta on the Fourth of July, the Lambert overnight ocean race, pursuit-race series through the summer and autumn, and the Halloween Team Race in harbor Sonars, and is a host club of Marblehead Race Week, sailed since 1889. Visiting yachts can take a town mooring and use the club launch, hailed on VHF 9.
