Overview
The Royal Victoria Yacht Club dates from 1845 and today sails from Fishbourne on the Isle of Wight, near Ryde, with its own club pontoon that welcomes visitors. An 'open to all' club of around 600 members, it races on Sundays and evenings in Squibs, Lasers, Optimists, Scows, Waszps and fast and slow handicap fleets, runs cruiser racing, a busy cadet section for 8–18 year-olds with a summer cadet week, and adult sailing; members may fly the club's special ensign under its Admiralty warrant.
