Overview

The Royal Corinthian Yacht Club was founded on the Thames in 1872 and is now based on the quay at Burnham-on-Crouch in Essex, in a Grade II* listed waterfront clubhouse. The club was an early champion of one-design racing, started Burnham Week in 1893 and still races its own Royal Corinthian One Designs alongside Squibs, Dragons, Hunter 707s, Blazes, cruisers and a dinghy fleet on the tidal Crouch and Roach. Since 1961 it has hosted the invitation-only Endeavour Trophy, the RYA-recognised 'champion of champions' dinghy event, sailed in Melges 15s in 2026. Its junior section, the Corinthian Otters, has its own Otter Week, and the club runs its own training courses.
