Overview
The Brugse Zeil- en Yachtclub goes back to a group of sailing friends on the Damse Vaart who held the first sailing races in Bruges in 1966; the present non-profit was set up on 10 December 1972. The club has two bases: in the Bruges inner port on the Boudewijn canal, with a sailing school, clubhouse and a marina with a standing-mast route to the sea, and the Tijdok marina in Zeebrugge. On the Boudewijn canal its WWSV-recognised school runs courses for juniors and adults, there are six club races a season and, as the only club in West Flanders, regular adaptive sailing for people with disabilities.
