Overview
Sydney Rowing Club was founded in 1870, first on the site where the Opera House now stands, and has been based since 1947 at Abbotsford Point on the Parramatta River, where it bought the old Red Cow Inn property in 1873 as its river branch. It is a Rowing Australia High Performance Pathway club that aims to be the country's top rowing club: senior squads train for U21, U23 and senior state and national selection and race abroad, including at Henley Royal Regatta, while the junior program prepares under-18 rowers for national championships. The club also runs junior learn-to-row holiday programs for ages 14–18, and its waterfront clubhouse has a bar and restaurant open daily.
